Shincheonji to the World, The World to Shincheonji!

On November 10th 2019 12:00 (UTC +9), 103,764 students of all backgrounds and ages from 113 nationalities gathered to take part in an unprecedented graduation ceremony. In addition to 60,000 graduates who gathered at a huge indoor venue in Gyeonggi province, Republic of Korea (South Korea), a further 43,000 gathered via livestream in Busan, Gwangju and dozens of major cities and countries in five continents. All graduates are now registered in Shincheonji Church of Jesus.

This is the first time in modern history that any single denomination or religious institution has grown by 100,000 people within just one year. It marks the largest graduation of any single denomination in an era when Christianity in South Korea and globally is on the decline with seminary enrolment, according to the Association of Theological Schools (ATS), also on a decline in the last decade.

The reason for the rapid growth of Shincheonji Church of Jesus in 2019, which in the last five years has been growing by an average of 20-30,000 people, is that it is the promised church of the Bible and the only place in the world that teaches the fulfilment (reality) of the promises recorded in the book of Revelation in the New Testament of the Bible. According to the Bible, Shincheonji Church of Jesus is the promised temple (church) with the promised pastor and promised theology.

1) Promised Pastor
The book of Revelation, which records promises about future events, has been sealed for the last 2000 years. However, this book has finally been opened and its promises fulfilled. In Revelation 10, the meaning of Revelation and its fulfilment (reality) was given to one person who saw and heard all the promised events in Revelation. This person is the messenger sent by Jesus on his behalf to make known everything he has witnessed to the churches (see Revelation 22:8, 16). His testimony is trustworthy because he has witnessed all these promised events in person at the location of the events. From October 4th-November 2nd, Man Hee Lee, chairman of Shincheonji Church of Jesus and the promised pastor (messenger) of our generation, testified the true word of the Bible at the ‘Open Bible Seminar: The Second Coming and Harvest’ to 30,000 people in six cities in the Republic of Korea. 45,000 people had registered for the seminar. Chairman Lee is also a peace advocate who is uniting religious leaders throughout the world to cease all wars and achieve peace. This is very significant in a world where c.80% of wars and conflicts are motivated by religion.

2) Promised Temple
Shincheonji Church of Jesus is promised to appear throughout the Bible; specifically within the book of Revelation where the promise of a ‘New Heaven New Earth’ is recorded in chapter 21. The name 'Shincheonji' ('Shin-cheon-shin-ji’ in full) translates from the Korean as 'New Heaven New Earth'. The people (congregation members) in Shincheonji Church of Jesus are part of this new kingdom and people born of God’s seed (word). God, who left this world 6000 years ago because of sin (Genesis 6:3), will return to people gathered at this place to be with them and end death, mourning, crying and pain (please refer to Revelation 21:3-4). It is an incredibly hopeful promise that will be fulfilled soon.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus is also named 'The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony' because it is from this Temple (church) that the 'testimony' of the fulfilment (reality) of Revelation is given. through the promised pastor who has witnessed all these promised events in person. The name ‘Shincheonji’ is in Korean because the promised events recorded in Revelation have been fulfilled in South Korea.

On a more practical note, Shincheonji Church of Jesus is very transparent with its finances. It spends the majority of congregation members’ contributions towards the work of evangelism so that as many people as possible can freely receive the truth of the Bible.

Moreover, 200,000 members of Shincheonji Volunteer Group actively serve communities throughout South Korea and internationally through a range of projects, campaigns and initiatives focused on environmental conservation, blood donation, medical aid, war veterans' support, elderly care and public service with numerous awards received to date from the Korean government.

3) Promised Theology
Shincheonji Church of Jesus possesses the promised theology where one can study Genesis, Revelation and all 66 books of the Bible in-depth. Through an intensive six-month Bible study course at its 300+ Zion Christian Mission Centres worldwide, people hungry for the true meaning of the Bible can study the basic, intermediate and advanced levels that cover the correct way of reading the Bible, Biblical history, the secrets of Revelation and Genesis (including the realities of the tree of life, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the serpent), the ‘new promise’ believers of the Bible must keep today, God's will for us individually and His plan to restore this broken world and create paradise. All this can be clearly understood because Revelation, which has been sealed for 2000 years, has been opened and given to one promised pastor to testify without cost. God has promised to do this, and whatever God promises, He always fulfils!
The 103,764 graduates of class 110 recently completed the intensive six-month Zion Christian Mission Center Bible study course. As with every graduating class, students took a 400-question exam covering all course content from Genesis to Revelation to demonstrate mastery of the Bible, scoring above 90% to be officially registered at Shincheonji Church of Jesus. Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ Zion Christian Mission Center teaches the Bible only through the Bible, without any of man’s commentaries. It is no exaggeration to say that the Biblical knowledge one receives in Shincheonji Church of Jesus far surpasses that of any seminary or theological institution anywhere. Indeed, because of the ‘pure’ word, its congregation members maintain an average service attendance of 99.1%. Following the graduation, 100,000 students are now currently enrolled on their theology programme.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus’ unprecedented graduation ceremony was covered by numerous media agencies and news of the ceremony publicised worldwide by dozens of media outlets in the US and globally including ABC8, NBC, Bahrain News Gazette and Saudi Arabia News Express, to name a few.

The graduation ceremony incorporated key elements of a typical Shincheonji Church of Jesus service - prayer and worship with a sermon from the promised pastor Chairman Lee. The graduation ceremony, however, also included speeches from two delegates who expressed their gratitude for the monumental graduation ceremony. The ceremony also included analysis of Chairman Lee’s global work of peace and, as always, a sermon by Chairman Lee (1:06:05 onwards of below link). After the sermon, a speech was delivered by a youth pastor who had evangelised 100 congregation members from his previous church while he was studying the Bible at Shincheonji Church of Jesus' Zion Christian Mission Center - a miracle story that is worth listening to (1:56:19 onwards). The ceremony continued with a 'performance of light' and children's bouquet-giving to Chairman Lee. Chairman Lee and 103,764 graduates concluded the ceremony by returning all praise to God with a 'hallelujah' and an 'Amen'.

41.7% of graduates were Christians (predominantly Protestants or Catholics) before they studied the word at Zion Christian Mission Center. One graduate said: “In the traditional church, I was not able to fulfill my spiritual hunger; however, in Shincheonji I was able to fill it with the words of the Bible and understand a clear purpose of my life as a Christian.” The graduate added: “Numerous people are leaving their churches due to the corruption and secularisation that is prevalent in many churches today, but Shincheonji helps believers to have a logical and a clear understanding of what it means to be reborn with the Word.”

Indeed, the 100,000 Graduation ceremony is also significant for another reason. It marks the downfall of the corrupt Christian Council of Korea (CCK); an organisation of Korean churches founded on the Presbyterian doctrine in 1989 which has established an inhumane ‘coercive conversion’ programme that has robbed two young women of their lives and continues to separate thousands of families in Korea. Through deceiving families into believing that their loved one has joined a cult, victims are confined in secluded locations where they subjected to physical and psychological abuse until they renounce their beliefs and consent to receiving Presbyterian ‘conversion education’. Moreover, over the last decade, CCK-affiliated pastors have been found guilty on 12,000 charges for crimes including fraud, burglary, forgery, defamation, drink-driving, arson and sexual assault. This is the disturbing reality of mainstream Christianity in Korea today.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus, however, is now shining the light of truth throughout the world and multitudes are streaming to learn the true word of the Bible. Shincheonji Church of Jesus' current rate of growth is expected to exceed one million members by 2021.
