Throughout the 6000 years of the Bible, God has promised future events. Jesus Christ fulfilled the Old Testament promise. Before he ascended to heaven, he promised about future events. Who, then, fulfils the New Testament promise?

In every Biblical era, there have been those who live a life of faith within the Bible and those who live a life of faith outside the Bible. 2000 years ago, anyone who wanted to live a life of faith within the Bible had to go to Jesus and listen to his words because he was the pastor promised by God in the Old Testament. Those who lived a life of faith outside the Bible were the pastors and congregation members of the religious (Jewish) world at that time. Jesus was promised by God and testified about the things of heaven, while pastors, ordained by man, taught mainly about the things of the earth. From the religious world, only 12 disciples came out to listen to Jesus’ words and accepted them to their death. This is because the religious leaders prevented their congregation members from going to Jesus, and instead persecuted him, labelling him ‘demon-possessed’ and a ‘sect’, and even crucified him on a cross. They loved man’s praise above God’s praise. Do you think such treatment will be much different for the promised pastor of the New Testament?

Before Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, he promised to send someone who would fulfil God and Jesus’ will at the time of Jesus' return (2^nd coming): the ‘faithful and wise servant’ (Mt 24:45), the ‘one who overcomes’ (Rv 3:12, 21) and Jesus’ promised messenger (Rv 22:16). In the same way that Jesus received and ate the opened scroll (Ez 3) and testified to everything he had seen and heard in heaven on the earth (Jn 3:31-34), Jesus' promised messenger also received and ate the opened scroll (Rv 10), which is the word of Revelation, and is now testifying to everything he has seen and heard in heaven on the earth (Rv 4, 22:8). Will you also label him ‘demon-possessed’?

A war has been raging on between God and Satan for the last 6000 years. Do you know how desperately God has been working to end all mourning, death, crying and pain? Do you know how God plans to achieve this?

All of the global and individual problems in this world is caused by one entity: Satan. He was one of God's most loved creations (Ezekiel 28), but because of his pride in wanting to be like God he was thrown out of heaven (Isaiah 14). He is the figurative serpent that deceived Adam and Eve in Eden (Gen 3). Since Adam's betrayal 6000 years ago, Satan has corrupted man's heart and mind, impacting every facet of life. However, God has been working to redeem all creation back to Him.

6000 years ago, God gave the whole world as an inheritance to Adam and all creation lived in peace with God. But Adam (figuratively) ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and betrayed God (Gen 3). Satan took possession of the whole world that had belonged to God and sin entered. God left (Gen 6:3) and death has ruled supreme since then. To solve the problem of sin, God had to put an end to Adam's descendants through a flood (Gen 7) and God chose a righteous man called Noah. However, Noah's son sinned, so God came to Abraham ten generations later and fulfilled the promise He made to him through Moses. The 12 tribes of physical Israel betrayed God as King Solomon worshipped false gods (1Kings 11). Because of man's continuous sin, God needed someone born of His spiritual seed to atone for sin. So God promised through His prophet Jeremiah and all the Old Testament prophets to do a 'new thing' (Jer 31:22). 600 years later, God sent His son, Jesus Christ, who was born of God’s seed (Mt 1:21). Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament promise (Jn 19:30), and sowed God’s seed (Mt 13:24), as God had also promised in Jer 31:27. Before Jesus bore the cross, he promised a time of harvest (Mt 13:39). Since Jesus left, the Gospel has been preached throughout the world for the last 2000 years (Mt 24:14). Today, the fruits of the seed that Jesus sowed 2000 years ago are being harvested (Rv 14:14-16), sealed with the word of Revelation (Rv 7) and belong to God’s new promised kingdom - the 12 tribes of Shincheonji, New Heaven New Earth.

New Heaven New Earth is the promised kingdom and people born of God’s seed (word). It is the place where God’s 6000-year work comes to an end. It is in these promised 12 tribes where the reality of God’s final promise in Revelation is shown plainly (Jn 16:25). The testimony is delivered through Jesus’ promised messenger who has seen and heard the entire Revelation and is testifying it to the churches (Rv 22:8, 16). Most of Revelation has now been fulfilled. After the dragon (Rv 20), which is the serpent that had deceived Adam in Gen3, is seized and thrown into the Abyss, there will be the first resurrection of the spirits and flesh and God and the Holy City New Jerusalem in the spiritual realm will descend on the 12 tribes of New Heaven and Earth. A world of peace where God will reign will follow (Rv 21:4); a world without mourning, death, crying or pain. Eden restored.

2000 years ago, Jesus Christ fulfilled the promises of the Old Testament (Jn 19:30), sowed God's seed as promised in Jeremiah 31:27 (Mt 13:24) and made a new promise that would be fulfilled when he returns (Lk 22:14-20). Jesus said that his return would be marked by signs (Mt 24, Lk 17). and Apostle Paul’s letter to the church in Thessalonica (above) is a promise about Jesus’ return. As all the promises God makes in the Bible are fulfilled within the Bible - His promise to Abraham fulfilled through Moses and His promise to the Old Testament prophets fulfilled through Jesus Christ - this promise must also be fulfilled within the Bible. The Book of Revelation is the last, and only, book of promise left to be fulfilled. In fact, the promise of a 'rebellion' and the 'man of lawlessness' have been fulfilled and the realities of these entities have appeared: the chosen people of God’s tabernacle betrayed (rebellion) and were destroyed by the destroyers (man of lawlessness).

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. (2Thessalonians 2:8)

At that time, after the work of betrayal and destruction comes the work of salvation. Jesus said that the harvest is the end of the age (Mt 13:39). Today, Jesus and God's angels are fulfilling this work of harvest (Rv 14). Those who are harvested are sealed with the new covenant Revelation (Rv 7) and belong to the 12 tribes of God’s promised New Heaven New Earth - in full, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony. Most of the promises recorded in the New Testament have already been fulfilled and their realities are being testified to the religious world by Jesus' promised messenger who has seen and heard all the events of Revelation (Rv 22:8, 16). The Bible promises events that will take place ‘that day’, ‘that time’ or ‘last day’. When these promises are fulfilled, a reality appears and the correct meaning of what was promised can be explained. What God promised Abraham was fulfilled at Moses’ time and what God promised through the Old Testament prophets was fulfilled at Jesus’ first coming. In the same way, the promises made since Jesus came on earth 2000 years ago will be fulfilled at the time of his second coming. Such promises include:-

"For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." (Jn 6:40)

Martha said to Him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day." (Jn 11:24)

"But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.” (Mk 13:32)

As the only book in the Bible left to be fulfilled, these promises all point to the fulfilment of the New Testament book of Revelation, marking Jesus’ second coming. Jesus has fulfilled the promises of Revelation through his promised messenger who has seen and heard all the events of Revelation and testifies them to the churches (Rv 22:8,16). Those who believe in the fulfilment of the New Testament promises have been born of God’s seed, harvested, sealed with the word of God and belong to the promised 12 tribes of New Heaven New Earth recorded in Revelation.

(The Time that God and the Bible Promised, and Today)

On 15^th March 2019, a gunman armed with a semi-automatic rifle and shotgun, and motivated by delusional beliefs of superiority, entered two mosques killing fifty men, women and children and wounding dozens of others in Christchurch, New Zealand. Although the global community - of all faiths and none - responded in horror to this sick act, acts of violence are taking place today among believers of the same faith. 

This is especially true within the Christian circle in the Republic of Korea, notably with the Christian Council of Korea (CCK). The CCK claims itself to be ‘orthodox’ and labels other denominations a ‘heresy’, or ‘cult’. Just because one says they are orthodox and another heresy, does it mean that this is the case? What is the evidence? Let’s look more deeply.

For over ten years, the CCK has been implementing "coercive conversion" education. This is a programme whereby CCK pastors target their ex-congregation members and believers of different Christian beliefs. CCK pastors instil fear into parents or spouses, deceiving them into believing that their loved one has fallen into a ‘cult’. Parents and spouses first drug then forcibly abduct them to remote lodgings and subject them to psychological and emotional abuse whereby the victim is coerced by a pastor into renouncing his or her beliefs and signing to accept the teachings of the CCK.

To date, two women have died through the coercive conversion programme: Mrs. Sunhwa Kim was murdered with a hammer blow to the head in October 2007 and 27-year-old Ms. Ji-In Gu was asphyxiated to death on January 9th 2018, triggering a wave of protests in dozens of countries. Both died at the hands of their own family members in their struggles resisting coercive conversion education. In the last ten years, more than 1250 Korean Christian believers have been forcibly subject to this programme, tearing hundreds of families apart. The supposedly democratic and constitutional laws of the Republic of Korea which enshrine ‘freedom of religion’ are completely ignored by the government who have said nothing about this menace because of the corruption between religion and state. In the last ten years, 12,000 pastors affiliated to the CCK have been convicted of crimes including fraud, harassment, drink-driving and sexual assault.

Whether in religion or elsewhere, it is a great sin to label one a 'heresy' as it can sow a seed of distrust and - in the worst case - hatred into peoples’ hearts, reaping appalling consequences. The only solution to man’s actions is to find the one true standard, which is God's standard. Because God is the word/Bible (Jn 1:1) and because Jesus promised that his words - which are recorded in the Bible - would judge man’s actions in the last day (Jn 12:48), only God’s word has the standard and is orthodox. Let's understand the true meaning of what is ‘orthodox’ and ‘heresy’:

(The Bible, the Standard Between Orthodoxy and Heresy)

As God is spirit (Jn 4:24), He has given us His word so that one can clearly understand His will (Jn 1:1). After Adam’s betrayal 6000 years ago, God found a righteous man called Noah and established a covenant with him, commanding him to be fruitful, increase in number and fill the earth (Gen 9). God put an end to Adam’s generation through a flood, and Noah and his seven family members were saved. However, sin found its way through Noah’s second son, Ham, who exposed his father’s nakedness. God - who can not dwell with sin - put an end to Noah’s generation and came to Abraham, promising him that his descendants would be slaves in a country not their own for four hundred years but would later come out with great possessions (Gen 15). God fulfilled this promise through Moses who led the twelve tribes of Israel out of slavery in Egypt to the Promised Land of Canaan (Ham's descendants!). God promised the Israelites en-route at Mount Sinai that they would be a kingdom of priests and a holy nation if they kept God’s covenant (Moses' law). However, this covenant was later broken by King Solomon worshipping foreign gods (1Kings 11). Israel was consequently split in two and destroyed by gentile nations.

God had to begin His work of restoration once again and, through the Old Testament prophets (500-700BC), promised to send His only Son. 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ came according to these promises to save people once and for all. But only 12 disciples believed. How do you think God felt seeing His only begotten Son persecuted and hung on a cross by the religious authorities and believers at that time? Before his death, Jesus promised to return by harvesting the fruits of the seed ('word' in Lk 8:11) that he had sown in his field in Mt 13:24-30. The Gospel has been preached for the last 2000 years and, according to this promise, the fruits of this seed are being harvested today into Jesus’ promised church. Where is this promised church?

The book of Revelation contains God's final promise of restoration. 2000 years ago, Apostle John recorded this prophecy according to a vision Jesus showed him. This scroll - recorded in parables and sealed with seven seals - has remained in God’s hands for 2000 years. Jesus takes this sealed scroll from God’s right hand and begins to fulfil its contents as each of the seven seals is opened. Jesus then gives this sealed scroll to an angel who gives it to Jesus' promised messenger (Rv 22:16) in Rv 10. This person has seen and heard all the events recorded in the book of Revelation and can, therefore, testify to their fulfilment on God's and Jesus' behalf (Rv 22:8). Jesus, who came in the flesh 2000 years ago, died, resurrected and is alive today in spirit working through his promised messenger. Moreover, the  fruits of the seed Jesus sowed 2000 years ago are harvested today (Rv 14:14-16), sealed with the word of God (Rv 7) and belong to the twelve tribes. These twelve tribes can be found at the promised “Shincheonji church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony” (Rv 15:5) where all the events of Revelation are plainly testified by Jesus' promised messenger and where God, Jesus, Jesus' promised messenger and the congregation members of the twelve tribes (firstfruits) are gathered. This is the 'tree of life' which reappears to heal all nations (Rv 22:2). Today’s kingdom is unlike any other as it is an eternal one (Dn 2:44) where God will return to end all mourning, death, crying or pain (Rv 21:3-4). This is truly hopeful!

The Sam-il (literally ‘3-1’, hence ‘March 1^st’) Movement in Seoul in 1919 was, arguably, the earliest public display of Korean resistance to Japanese colonial rule which itself had begun in 1910 and would last until 1945. The movement arose in response to the oppressive de facto Japanese military rule and was inspired by the "Fourteen Points" proclaimed by President Woodrow Wilson at the Paris Peace Conference in January 1919. Soon after his speech, 33 religious and cultural activists gathered at a restaurant in Seoul to read aloud the Korean Declaration of Independence. This was then publicly read aloud in nearby Pagoda Park at 2pm, with the same public declarations made throughout the country by appointed delegates at the same time. Crowds grew as roughly 1500 nationwide demonstrations were attended by more than two million Koreans over a 12-month period. The Japanese police force and army violently quashed these demonstrations and murdered tens of thousands of Koreans in their pursuit of liberation - some in atrocious ways.

During Shincheonji church’s outdoor ‘Adoration’ event, letters were written and delivered to the families of these freedom fighters who had sacrificed their lives to liberate Korea from such repressive rule. This was followed by a time of silent prayer. Although the movement had failed to achieve national independence, it strengthened national unity, leading to the birth of the Korean Provisional Government in Shanghai, and attracted global attention. In May 1949, March 1^st was designated a national holiday in both North and South Korea. History should not forget their sacrifice. In the words of one citizen who attended the commemorative event, "we can now live in this country without worry because these freedom fighters fought for us.”

There are millions of churches and tens of thousands of denominations of Christianity throughout the world today. What distinguishes Shincheonji Church of Jesus (hereon Shincheonji church) from all the other churches and seminaries? Why do I go there?

Firstly, Shincheonji church has been fulfilled according to God’s many promises recorded in the Bible. From 2600 years ago, God promised of a ‘New Heaven New Earth’ that would appear at the time of the fulfilment of the promises recorded in the New Testament Revelation (see Is 65:17, Is 66:22, 2 Peter 3:13, Rv 21:1). Shincheonji (shortened from ‘Shincheonshinji’) translates from Korean into ‘New Heaven New Earth’. Its full name is ‘Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony’. Jesus - not man - is the head of the church because he is the one who promised about the events recorded in the book of Revelation 2000 years ago and is the one who opened the scroll (Revelation) that had been sealed for 2000 years (Rv 5). This church is the tabernacle where the testimony of the fulfilment of Revelation is plainly made known (Rv 15:5). It is, ultimately, the promised ‘New Heaven New Earth’ recorded in Rv 21 where God promises to be with His creation and end all mourning, death, crying and pain (Rv 21:3-4). Is there anything else more hopeful than this?

What also distinguishes Shincheonji church from any other church or seminary is the purity of the word that is taught. At Shincheonji church’s Zion Christian Mission Center (theological wing), one can learn the entire 66 books of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation during a six-month Bible study programme. Students are then sealed through a 400-question exam so that the word remains in one’s heart and mind. This is also according to God’s promise of recording His word in believers’ hearts and minds (see Heb 8:10). God doesn’t come to each person individually to make the true word known. According to the way He has always worked in the Bible, He chooses one promised pastor to fulfil and testify what was promised. 2000 years ago, Jesus Christ promised that he would send his messenger. This person has seen and heard the entire fulfilment of Revelation that began in the Republic of Korea and he has been testifying this to all the churches (Rv 22:8, 16). Although this can be difficult to believe in our spiritually darkened and confused world, this is God’s way of making the truth known to people. God always works through one promised pastor to fulfil His promise.

Shincheonji church is growing unlike any other. In the face of persecution from the established Church in Korea and its allied press, Shincheonji church has grown exponentially from a handful of believers in March 1984 to 120 in 1986, 45,000 in 2007, 70,000 in 2010, 120,000 in 2012, 140,000 in 2014, 170,000 in 2016 and nearly 205,000 globally today. Those who study the word at the Zion Christian Mission Centers and graduate into Shincheonji church are the leaves on the tree of life that will heal all nations (Rv 22:2). Everything in Shincheonji church is fulfilled according to God’s promises in the Bible.

So, why did I choose to come to Shincheonji church?

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps. (Prov 16:9)

Simply put, I didn't! God led my footsteps here. I was hungry and thirsty to know God and believed that I could know His purpose for my life and receive the answers to the questions I had about the condition of the world through the Bible (see Ps 37:23, Prov 3:5). Moreover, the entire Bible is clearly testified with the Bible as the sole standard without any need for external commentaries. Moreover, believers have great respect and love for one another, supporting one another on what can sometimes be a difficult journey. Lastly, Shincheonji church puts its beliefs into practice through Shincheonji Volunteer Group which, with nearly 200,000 volunteers worldwide, serves the marginalised and isolated through whatever means.
