Air pollution is a global problem with far-reaching impacts on humanity and nature, and it poses one of the greatest environmental risks to human health.

One of the world's most polluted cities is Seoul, South Korea. To raise awareness and mobilise action to address air pollution in Seoul, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Goyang Branch launched the 'Air Pollution Reduction Campaign' and continued eco-friendly activities centred on practice with citizens on July 4th.

This campaign focused on introducing environmental protection measures that Goyang citizens can easily practise in their daily lives and on informing the public of the importance of resource recycling.

On the 4th July, at Rodeo Street in Hwajeong neighbourhood, a member of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Goyang Branch is introducing an air purifier using coffee grounds to passers-by and explaining how to make it
Moreover, a booth promoted the recycling of coffee grounds, which are an eco-friendly living material due to their excellent odour removal and air purification effects, to help reduce waste disposal costs and carbon emissions.

Citizens shared their awareness of the environment by writing and attaching post-it notes with actionable pledges for everyday life, such as ‘making public transportation more common,’ ‘reducing disposable items,’ and ‘using tumblers.’

Meanwhile, this eco-friendly campaign is part of the nationwide 'Green Nature' campaign of Shincheonji Volunteer Group, whose purpose is to preserve a beautiful natural environment for posterity through various activities, including wetland conservation activities, environmental cleanups to protect major facilities and cultural assets, disaster recovery activities, public awareness campaigns for environmental protection, and the creation of flower paths in illegal dumping areas.
