Shincheonji Gwangmyeong Church Plogs Weekly for One Year

by - 20:44

Since August of last year, Shincheonji Gwangmyeong Church has been plogging every Sunday in an alley in Doksan neighbourhood

“I felt proud that I could serve the local community after attending the Sunday service every week.”

Since August 2024, Shincheonji Gwangmyeong Church has been carrying out ‘plogging’ every Sunday to remove cigarette butts, discarded plastic cups, and plastic bags strewn in parks - along a distance of about 300m every week - that were causing a particular nuisance to local residents. A believer who participated in plogging said the above.

Shincheonji Gwangmyeong Church's service has gone beyond simple environmental clean-up activities and has become a 'life service' in which church members have a sense of responsibility and contribute to the local community in their daily lives.

Meanwhile, plogging is an environmental activity that combines picking up litter while jogging. It started in Europe and has spread worldwide.
