“When I heard the testimony of the reality of the war in the Book of Revelation, my whole being was moved with excitement.” (Interview: Okhee Han | Pastor)
“Shincheonji is on a whole other level because it is a place where the Holy Spirit is at work and the testimony of the word received from heaven is directly given.” (Interview: Chang-hoon Jeong | Director of Hope Prayer Centre)
These are the honest impressions of pastors who attended the Shincheonji Bible Seminar.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus, created from the 12 tribes promised in the Bible, is the only church that can testify not only to the true meaning of the words of Revelation but also to its reality.
Even though he is well over 90 years old, Chairman ManHee Lee of Shincheonji travelled around South Korea every four days to testify the Word, and his sincerity and passion moved the hearts of pastors.
Starting in Seoul on October 7th, the seminar was held in Daejeon on the 11th and Daegu on the 15th, and three days later in Busan.
Before the testimony of the Word, the magnificent sound of drums knocked at the heart of those in attendance.
In Daegu, Chairman ManHee Lee testified about the reality of the betrayers, destroyers, and saviour, as well as the main contents of all the chapters of Revelation.
Chairman Lee of Shincheonji said:-
“In Revelation Chapter 13, the group of the dragon, the beast with seven heads and ten horns, entered the tabernacle of God and fought. God's chosen pastors lost this battle and the group of the dragon won. So God’s pastors bowed down to the group of the dragon. A person who should worship God but ends up worshipping his opponent becomes a betrayer. We mustn't worship the devil’s pastor.
In chapter 12, it is written that the dragon was in the tabernacle of God. However, the child born to the woman, together with his brothers, fought against the dragon's seven heads and ten horns and defeated them. Only by fighting and being victorious can the kingdom of God and salvation come; not so? If our pastors carelessly speak of salvation without knowing much about the Bible, they become people who disrupt God's work. The Bible is meant to be fulfilled at the appointed time, revealed, and testified according to the process of logic. Isn't that so?”
In every lecture, Chairman Lee asked the pastors, “Which tribe do you belong to?” and the pastors were unable to give any answer. This is because only Shincheonji has 12 tribes.
The October seminar series was prepared in response to a flood of requests for additional lectures from current and former pastors who attended the initial Bible Seminar held in the first half of the year.
A pastor, who attended for the second time, explained that the revival of Shincheonji is only natural because there is a promised pastor who clearly teaches the Book of Revelation:-
“Last time, there was a seminar at BEXCO that I attended, and I was asked to come back, so I did so and listened to today's sermon, and was moved when I heard how consistently he spoke. The Book of Revelation specifically states that this era is the last era. I think the phenomenon of these seminars makes them unique in the way they enlighten believers.”
Pastor Gwang-seon Choi said:-
“This is my fourth time attending. I continue to attend every time Shincheonji Church hosts a Bible Seminar, and in short, I am now recharged like a battery, strengthened and working with that strength. In Revelation 22:16, Jesus said he would send a messenger to the churches. If you attend these kind of lectures, you will clearly see that the Chairman is truly the promised pastor, because you will realise that He is the one whom God has appointed through His Word and the one whom Jesus spoke of in the Book of Revelation. I hope that many people will have the courage to listen to the Word and attend events like this.”
Another pastor said:-
“I've read a lot of the Book of Revelation, but it's very difficult for us to interpret it. I think that we, pastors, now need to change ourselves. As we learn more about the new covenant that Jesus made, we also learn about the Book of Revelation. The reality is that we do not know about the Book of Revelation right now, so I think we should learn it properly and teach it to our congregations. Even Jesus was called a heresy 2000 years ago. I think that those who are called heretics and are the most persecuted are those who possess the truth. The Chairman is so old now, but he can do this yet again because God is with him. I believe that Shincheonji will see a great revival because it has the promised pastor.”
20,000 believers, including 300 pastors, attended the Shincheonji Bible Seminar held in Gwangju, the finale stop of the nationwide lecture tour.
A large number of people came to fill the Shincheonji Gwangju temple of Peter Tribe, and their desire to want to learn the Word was evident by their turning through the pages of the Bible.
Chairman Lee asked pastors to properly learn and teach the words of Revelation since they lead many church members, and said:-
“In Chapter 22 of Revelation, verse 8, this person who saw the war in Revelation is told in verse 16 to go and preach what he saw and heard to the churches. Then who should the churches listen to? This person (I, Chairman) who received the opened scroll in Chapter 10. This person is the one who saw and heard the entire war in Revelation. What did you hear and learn while attending seminary? Shouldn’t you know about these things? Who did God send to the churches? What kind of person is that person? One should know. Please let go of your desire for power and authority. Who is a 'doctor of theology'? What kind of theology professors don't even know the Bible? Please get rid of that baggage. Your titles and positions have not been given by God.”
The pastors, who took notes and listened to the end, expressed their ambition to spread the truth they had learned to fellow believers.
Following the seminar, one pastor said:-
“What has most filled me with hope and expectation was the facial expressions of the people next to me from Shincheonji who have guided me to this point. Their language and character brightly and passionately conveys God’s love. I received grace through their sincere empathy and communion with the purpose of sharing God's love together, so I want to listen more to the Chairman's words. What I first need to do is open my ears so that I can quickly understand the language the Chairman uses.”
Another pastor said:-
“I didn’t have very good feelings about Shincheonji before. But as I listened to the lecture, the last thing he said really touched my heart: 'The Bible is the same, the our praise and worship is the same, and God is the same God. Then why do we resort to criticising and cursing the other? Isn’t it wonderful to live and achieve things together?' Those words were very touching. There isn't much time to study the Bible in seminary. You have to study on your own, and you have to read the commentaries, but I think the most attractive point of Shincheonji is that it first solves any confusion through the Word and allows you to come to some kind of spiritual awakening through the Word. It's not easy to lecture like that for an hour and a half without even taking a sip of water, especially not at that age. And the way it flowed out without the aid of the Bible or notes. He saw, heard, and tasted the Word - he's eaten it in its entirety, so everything that has been digested naturally comes out as is. Otherwise, how could anyone speak like that? My respect and appreciation for the chairman has really grown. The chairman is kind and compassionate, and there are pastors here who told me about today's event. I think what is most important is that we lead at least one more person to salvation and God. What else is there?”
A third pastor said:-
“I had a lot of questions about the Book of Revelation, so I came to Shincheonji Church and wanted to study the Book of Revelation and do more research. I did not often preach about the Book of Revelation, and kept quiet. I came because I wish to minister by properly preaching the 66 books of the Bible. I believe there is life through the Word taught here, because Chairman ManHee Lee saw, heard, and felt the actual reality of the Word firsthand. I would like to convey to the pastors of the existing denominations what I have heard, seen, and felt so far, and ask them to join me in studying the Book of Revelation. I'm currently doing that and keeping in close contact with them.”
A church leader who was interviewed said:-
“After listening to the chairman's words, I really wanted to know what kind of place Shincheonji is and what it does, and I wanted to convey this to my brothers and sisters. In the ordinary churches, only the pastor preaches and delivers the word, but I was impressed to learn that ordinary congregation members (in Shincheonji) could also do this.”
Following the seminar, one pastor said:-
“I thought it was God’s will to attend, and I followed. The Chairman of Shincheonji Church of Jesus came again today and spoke about the Book of Revelation, and I listened attentively. The Chairman is trying to save the Korean Church. We need to save the Korean church. If you interpret Revelation arbitrarily, this is an utterly sinful act. If you really don't know, you must say so without covering it up, and allow the Holy Spirit to teach it to you. Revelation is impossible to interpret through one's own effort. The church must become one, and in the case of there being any shortcomings, they must meet and resolve them through dialogue. And that is absolutely fine. Also, if there's something we've taught incorrectly, we can just ask them to teach us and have us listen. Therefore, we have to become one so that the devil cannot take advantage of the situation. It seems a little late now, but I think we just have to move onwards and upwards from here on.”
1500 pastors participated in the initial Shincheonji Bible Seminar held in April, and 1150 pastors participated in the second Bible Seminar series held in October.
A total of 3500 pastors, including those attending the 12 Tribes' Bible Seminar, visited Shincheonji to hear the message, and it is a very unusual phenomenon to attend a place that has been called a heresy.
There is a growing trend among pastors that the Word from Shincheonji must be checked out for themselves, and this can be inferred from the opinions of attendees.
A pastor attending the Seoul lecture said, “The fact that the revealed word came to the chairman of Shincheonji is itself an amazing event of the 21st century.”
A pastor attending in Daejeon said, “Our pastors should come with a repentant heart and learn well so that we ourselves can live and also save fellow believers.”
A pastor attending in Daegu said, “The word that God’s kingdom will be fulfilled on this earth has truly become my hope.”
A pastor attending in Busan said, “I really felt like I was alive when I heard the words of Shincheonji.”
Just as Noah cried out about 4400 years ago that the people must board the ark, the promised pastor of the New Testament is appealing that one must belong to the 12 tribes of Shincheonji to be saved.
Shincheonji is showing unprecedented growth in Christian history. Approximately 120,000 people, including 2800 domestic and foreign pastors, are learning the Word at the Zion Christian Mission Centre, and Shincheonji is preparing for an unbelievable miracle called the third '100,000 Graduation Ceremony' this year.
Shincheonji has the promised pastor, the revealed word, and even the fulfilled reality. Isn’t that the secret to its popularity?
