Shincheonji Volunteer Group Establishes Peace Agreements with 9 Groups, Suwon
Shincheonji Volunteer Group (SVG) hosted ‘The 6th Love for All Nations and Sharing of Peace’ campaign throughout the Republic of Korea. Agreements were made with nine different groups in Seoho Park, Suwon, on the 13th of July, with those in attendance including the Korean War Veterans’ Society, faith leaders and a number of citizens from Suwon (Gyeonggi province).
The nationwide event was hosted to thank veterans who sacrificed their lives in the Korean war that broke out on 25th June 1950 (Korea commemorates June as ‘Memorial Month’) and, more importantly, to pray for peace and ensure that the Korean peninsula is reunified. SVG is working tirelessly for the reunification of the Koreas. Branch manager, Donghee Choi, said, “We will volunteer for anything that can be of help to the community and our neighbours.”
Shincheonji Volunteer Group has 200,000 volunteers in 72 branches worldwide, participating in various initiatives that support those less privileged, environmental clean-up and provision of medical aid. The number of volunteers who have served worldwide from January-May 2019 stands at 60,000. Those who volunteered to address the national blood shortage levels are 3000 and the number of beneficiaries worldwide is 80,000. Beneficiaries included senior citizens (10,000), those less privileged (6000), foreign residents and workers (5000) and people with disabilities (4000).
