“The truth about the Book of Revelation that Shincheonji preaches is very shocking because it clearly shows the truth that existing churches have not been able to explain”
This is the confession of Pastor Yo-seop Jeong (63, male), who attended the concluding seminar of the '2024 Shincheonji Bible Seminar on the Testimony on the Fulfilled Realities of Revelation' seminar held by Chairman ManHee Lee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus in Jeonju City, South Korea.
Chairman Lee has travelled all over Korea to deliver the fulfilment of Revelation. Starting in Masan in September, he visited Busan, Seoul (Yeongdeungpo), Incheon, Seoul (Seodaemun), and finally, Jeonju City. Many journalists and pastors gathered to listen to the fulfilled Revelation of the witness.
At the seminar, Chairman Lee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus spoke in front of an audience of 30,000 people, including 300 pastors. He introduced himself as a soldier who fought on the frontlines during the Korean War. Surviving from the war, though he wasn’t a believer, he prayed to God every evening in a field by his hut (he was a farmer in the countryside), thanking God for saving his life. One evening, suddenly all his surroundings were brightened (a light came to him), and that happened on two evenings thereafter. This led him to begin his life of faith.
Chairman Lee opens the seminars with this introduction to let the audience realize that his words are not man’s teaching. He delivers only what he saw and heard firsthand.
As the promised pastor and the witness of Revelation, he was the person who sent the letters urging repentance to seven messengers (who had been chosen by Jesus at the Second Coming). He was the person who went up to heaven (Rev 4) and saw the throne of God and heard that the throne of God will come down to the earth. He also saw the event of Rev 5 in heaven, where God was holding a book that was sealed with seven seals. No one could look into it or open it. However, Jesus took the book and began to open the seals one by one starting from Rev 6. Whenever the seal was opened, the event written in the book of Revelation was fulfilled. In Rev 21:6, Jesus said, “It is done.” It means that the prophecy of Revelation will be fulfilled.
Chairman Lee emphasised the importance of Rev 22:18-19, that no one should add or take away from the prophecy of the book of Revelation. He explained that Revelation was written in parables for a specific purpose. He quoted the conversation between Jesus and the Disciples about the parables (Mt 13). The Disciples asked Jesus the reason why he spoke to the crowd in parables. Jesus answered, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.” Therefore, parables are used in order to hide something. The book of Revelation was even described as being sealed with seven seals and in God’s hand. That is why no one in the world could know about Revelation.
In Rev 6, some people received judgment whenever Jesus opened the seal. In this chapter, the sun, moon and stars darkened and fell. In Gen 37, the sun, moon and stars refers to God’s chosen people. At the Second Coming, it is revealed that those people in Rev 6 are Spiritual Israelites who sinned. They were the seven messengers in Rev 2-3. The punishment upon them is carried out in Rev 6. While explaining this, Chairman Lee criticised the pastors who rashly taught the congregation members that this content refers to the United States, China, or the Soviet Union. Chairman Lee said, “If you didn’t see the fulfilment, you shouldn’t fabricate lies about it. Even in a courtroom in the world, no one gives approval to an accusation if there’s no evidence.”
Rev 7 begins with “After this”. “This” refers to the event of Rev 6. After punishing the chosen people who sinned, the new people of God are created by being harvested, sealed, and registered to the twelve tribes. Chairman Lee explained what “sealing people” means. As it is described in Jn 1:1-4, the word is God and God is the word. Sealing people means engraving the word (of Revelation) in people’s hearts. The seal that is used to stamp is the word of Revelation. In Jn 1:3, all things were made with the word. He emphasised the importance of the word and said, “Before criticising anyone, you must engrave the word on your heart with the determination that you will be a walking Bible.”
While explaining that every entity of Revelation must appear in reality, Chairman Lee also said, “Our book, the Bible is unique, isn’t it? It’s the living word. The word is being fulfilled until now. You must verify it.”
He went on to explain the importance of verifying the fulfilled reality of Revelation. He said that we used to know nothing about Revelation even if we wanted to because no one could know it. However, today, there is someone who has mastered the book of Revelation, and we can learn about it. Chairman Lee confidently said that this individual (Chairman Lee) knows both the meaning of the prophecy and the fulfilled reality of Revelation. He highlighted the relationship between Revelation and the audience by saying, “You must verify, ‘Who am I according to the Bible?’ and ‘Was I truly created according to the Bible?’”
Chairman Lee encouraged the pastors to learn about Revelation, “It is said that we must not add or take away from Revelation, but if you did as a pastor, you must fix that by actually learning it. Or you’ll be judged (Rev 20:11-12, Rev 22:18-19). (As Jesus said in Mt 24) The Bible won’t pass away. Jesus said that heaven and earth will pass away, but his words will never pass away.”
'Who am I according to what the Bible says? Was I created according to the Bible?'
Chairman Lee consistently asked the pastors this question throughout his lecture. The pastors were all dumbfounded by the topic that no believer can avoid. One pastor said, “It was a question that made me reflect on my life as a pastor,” and “Through this question, I was able to reflect on what is most important in faith.”
Pastor Jeong said, “The truth about the Book of Revelation that Shincheonji preaches is very shocking because it clearly shows the truth that existing churches have not been able to explain.”
He said, “While all religions are currently lacking vitality and energy, Shincheonji seems to have life, like the nation of the tree of life.”
Pastor Seon-ye Yang said, “I could not deny that he was a messenger sent by Jesus as I watched him explain the Book of Revelation based on the six principles,” and “I am so ashamed that I only thought of and studied the Book of Revelation literally.”
The pastors said, “Thank you for letting me know the truth about the Revelation of the New Testament,” and pledged, “We will bear testimony correctly.” The convention ended with the Chairman holding the hands of the pastors and giving glory to God.
