Shincheonji Volunteer Group's Cheongpyeong Branch Conducts 'Beautiful Seniors' Programme for Independent Living Support Centre for People With Disabilities

“I feel soothed because the discomfort in my curled hands seems to have gone away a little after receiving paraffin hand care and a hand massage.”
These are the words of a beneficiary with finger disability who participated in the 'Beautiful Seniors' programme held by the Cheongpyeong branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group at the Gapyeong District Independent Living Support Centre for People With Disabilities, on 4th September, in the Republic of Korea.
In an ageing society, the 'Beautiful Seniors' programme supports a healthy and happy retirement for people in older age under the slogan ‘One beautiful day is beautiful enough.’
On that day, the Cheongpyeong branch brought joy and warmth to 25 senior citizens through a range of activities, including hair and beauty care, paraffin wax hand massage, sock woodworking, calligraphy frame making, bead crafts, nail art, and more.
Jong-cheol Kim, the director of Gapyeong District Independent Living Support Centre for People With Disabilities, said, “The hairdresser by profession who came as a volunteer is volunteering for the 7th time,” and expressed his gratitude by saying, “It's not easy to run a business, so we sincerely thank you for coming.”
In addition to the Beautiful Seniors programme, the Cheongpyeong branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group also conducts the Good Donation, Good Consumption campaign to support low-income households and the Green Nature campaign to pass on a beautiful environment as a legacy to posterity.
Meanwhile, Shincheonji Volunteer Group was founded by Shincheonji Church of Jesus in the Republic of Korea. The purpose of Shincheonji Volunteer Group is to break down the barriers of conflict found within class, gender, religion, and politics, and unite hearts and minds by putting the teachings received from heaven into practice for the growth and development of local communities throughout South Korea.
