Chairman ManHee Lee visits churches in Gwangju and Jeonnam regions in succession...emphasises ‘Bible-centred faith’
Despite being nearly 94 years of age, Chairman Lee has visited a total of 40 churches within South Korea and abroad this year to listen to the voices of the faithful and create a better religious environment for them. Moreover, whenever the Chairman visits a church on Sundays and Wednesdays, he stands on the pulpit to testify the Word of God with conviction, centred on the Book of Revelation, preaching powerfully for about an hour.
Recently, on Sunday 1st September, Chairman ManHee Lee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus visited the Shincheonji Yeosu Church of the Peter Tribe, marking the fourth visit to a local church of the same tribe in six months.
The Jeonnam region, where the majority of the Peter Tribe churches are situated, has a higher percentage of Protestants than other regions, and thus, the established religious groups have strong influence within the region. Despite this, among the 12 tribes, the largest number of domestic believers in Shincheonji Church of Jesus belong to the Peter Tribe, which increased from 43,530 domestic believers in 2020 to over 60,000 today, including overseas believers.
On that day, the believers lined up in an orderly manner several kilometres away from Shincheonji Yeosu Church, waving welcome pickets and balloons and cheering to welcome the Chairman. One of the believers who participated in the welcoming procession said, “I came here to express my gratitude to the pastor who has testified to the reality of the fulfilment of the prophecies recorded in the Book of Revelation and has conveyed the revealed word without giving up even in difficult times.”
Then, standing on the pulpit, Chairman Lee emphasised the importance of Bible-centred faith, saying, “God has revealed to us the Revelation that no one knew, including its fulfilment. We must always be thankful and become those who spread the Word of Life.” He continued, “Let us have the appearance of a true believer acknowledged by God according to this Word and become the light of the world.”
A believer who has been a believer in an established church for 25 years said, “I went to the Bible conference (hosted by Shincheonji Church of Jesus) at the recommendation of an acquaintance, and I couldn’t refute the fact that the Chairman explained what he had seen and heard firsthand based on the 5H1W principle of the Bible and the entire Book of Revelation.” He continued, “I'm very grateful because I know that he had many difficulties while preaching the word.”
Shincheonji Church of Jesus is making preparations for its fourth large-scale graduation ceremony of 110,000 students to be held later this year. According to tribe leader Jae-wook Yoo said, “This is possible because God is with us, and because of the devotion and love of the pastor who has led Shincheonji Church of Jesus.”
Meanwhile, the growth of Shincheonji Church of Jesus in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions has been met with a series of surprising responses from believers and pastors who run churches. In fact, on August 29th, about 100 pastors from the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions affiliated with the Korean Christian Cultural Exchange Network visited Shincheonji Gwangju Church to learn the secrets of its growth.
