'Testimony of the Revealed Word of the New Covenant’ seminar |
A meaningful time was created for pastors working at churches in Seoul to break down the walls between denominations and denominations and communicate through the words of Revelation.
On the 8th September, the Simon Tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (tribe leader Seung-ju Lee) (hereinafter referred to as the Simon Tribe of Shincheonji) held a seminar titled ‘Testimony of the Revealed Word of the New Covenant’ at Seodaemun Church in Seodaemun district, Seoul, with about 30 pastors invited. The seminar on that day was held in the following order: ▲watching the introduction video of Shincheonji ▲opening and event introduction ▲representative prayer ▲presentation.
Pastor Deok-hyeon Kim, who gave a congratulatory address, said, “When I first attended the Shincheonji Church seminar, I was surprised to see about 300 people attending, transcending denomination and creed.” He added, “It was a sight to see pastors from all over the country sharing harmoniously and becoming one in the Word.” “It was quite impressive,” he recalled.
Pastor Kim said, “As someone who has learned the words of Shincheonji and realised the will of God the Creator through them, I must say something to the religious world,” and emphasised, “With the conscience of a scholar, this is not the time to view the work of God’s revealed word negatively, calling it a heresy or a cult.”
On the next stage, the ‘Beautiful Country’ and ‘Light of Life’ performances prepared by the young people of the Simon Tribe of Shincheonji were performed.
Thereafter, in the presentation, Seung-joo Lee, head of the Simon Tribe of Shincheonji, said, “When God chose the chosen people, He chose Jacob’s 12 sons through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to create Israel, and during the first coming, Jesus chose the 12 disciples and did the work of spreading the gospel.” He explained, “Today, at this time of the Second Coming, we are creating the kingdom of God on this earth by creating 12 tribes through the promised pastor of the New Testament.”
The tribe leader said, “I also participated in the advanced study of the Book of Revelation and learned it at the Zion Christian Mission Centre for 2 hours, 4 times a week over 6 months.” He added, “Like the saying that someone who has tried it knows the taste, the Book of Revelation is truly the fulfilled word of revelation. Only those who have learned it can appreciate its true value.”
He continued, “The word ‘New Testament’ appears only once in the Bible, after Malachi ends and when the Gospel of Matthew begins, there's the word 'New Testament'.” He continued, “However, the word ‘new covenant’ appears eight times in the text of the Bible, and if you use the word ‘new covenant,’ you are called a heretic.” “It doesn’t make sense,” he pointed out. He added, “We are one in God, Jesus, and the Bible,” and urged, “Let’s come together as one and interact to awaken believers.”
Pastor A, who attended the seminar on that day, said, “When I thought of Shincheonji, I thought it was a cult, and it formed such an impression that I couldn’t recommend it to anyone around me. Following the seminar, my thoughts have changed, and I'd now like to know more of the Word by continuing interaction with Shincheonji, though I am yet to study their words.”
Pastor B said, “I learned for the first time that the origin of Chairman ManHee Lee’s faith was the guidance of the stars.” He added, “Jesus told us to be witnesses in this last era, and the expression 'testify the word of God' was planted in my heart. I will learn more about the Book of Revelation testified by Chairman Lee and live as a witness,” he pledged.
Meanwhile, the Simon tribe, held a lecture on the Book of Revelation on September 21st by opening the Zion Christian Mission Centre for pastors, elders, preachers, evangelists, seminarians, etc. for the second time since last June.
