Pontius Pilate Washed his Hands of Responsibility 2000 years ago to Declare His "Innocence”. Today, Judgment Will be Passed on 13th January 2021
On 13th December 2020, Cheonji Daily (Cheonji Ilbo) published an article in Korean entitled "'Pilate Washed his Hands of Responsibility 2000 years ago to Declare His 'Innocence'. Today, Judgment Will be Passed on 13th January 2021". This is a translation of that report.
I can't help but ask myself what it means to be 'purposeful'. Being a government leader is not about hiring people who work solely to safeguard the interests of the ruling party. In the philosophy of state administration, the true values of a country and its citizens, and humanity at large, must be respected. Shouldn't state administration operate according to these values and directions?
Such a leader would not have led the Republic of Korea to its current crisis.
History has taught us that, since ancient times, the greatness of a leader has never been marked by self-interest but by service to the public and equity.
Later generations have called Seonggun (a wise king) the 'Great King'. A seonggun must have searched for gifted and industrious people who would devote themselves to their country through Tangpyeongcheok (Impartial Policy in Korean). This is what separates the small from the great, and the reason why the saying "people are everything" exists.
Today, we have started to think about who these skilled and industrious people are. Facts and truths must be made known in a maddened world where one is unable to discern truth from lies because of widespread exposure to the media.
What is true and factual can not be regarded as false simply because one is unaware of their existence. Doesn't the lesson taught by Galileo, who insisted on the theory of earth's rotation, support this argument? This is why the truth will someday be revealed.
Today, a noteworthy individual has taken 31 world peace tours in his old age, sacrificing his life for mankind by obeying the commands of heaven. As a result, his actions have united the global community, transcending race, borders, culture and religion. What is particularly remarkable is the World Peace Monument erected worldwide after he brought an 40-year conflict on the island of Mindanao, Philippines, to an end, which neither the government nor military could resolve. There is not enough space to report on his continuous efforts for world peace, which will be covered separately.
Former President of Romania, Emil Constantinescu, who is a living witness of these works of peace, has praised this individual as a "Leader in the true sense of the word for World Peace."
Why does our country, South Korea, fail to recognise and protect such a noble effort and rather try to kill him? Isn't this truly ironic? Perhaps the powers of this world, with their vested interests, envy his life mission and so disregard this reality.
Who is this noble person? He is the 89-year-old chairman of Shincheonji, Mr. Man-hee Lee, who is currently being held responsible for the outbreak of COVID-19, which is a disease prevalent in today's world.
Chairman Lee has been sentenced to five years in prison for allegedly violating the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act by the prosecution in Suwon District court on December 9th. The next court hearing will take place on the 13th January 2021.
Is Chairman Lee a criminal? Shincheonji believers, the people of this country, and the whole world must now turn their eyes and ears to this trial because it goes beyond the fate of an individual or group and is a curse on humanity and a trial between the heavens and the earth.
All life on earth begins with a cause, and depending on that cause, there is an effect. The current trial started with a disease called COVID-19, and the responsibility of curbing its spread is one of the responsibilities of the state. Then, from where did the prosecution's sentence of death stem?
Historically, whenever there is an outbreak of any unknown disease, parties entrenched in religion and power often scapegoat the powerless minority in order to maintain their vested interests.

Chairman Lee made this clear in his final statement. He thanked the court for the permit of bail and expressed his belief that justice would prevail, reiterating his 'innocence'. Shincheonji did not bring COVID-19 from China and has become one of its biggest victims. The church even issued a public apology for being unable to curtail its spread. He made known that his regrets compelled him to ask Shincheonji congregants to donate their blood plasma because no one else could. He also made it clear that he did not embezzle a single penny but put public money into the finance department, and has the right to do whatever he wants with his own money.
To the prosecution, Chairman Lee asked, "Is it right to turn someone into a criminal? What do you think about fabricating the guilt of innocent blood?" Chairman Lee emphasised that when he began his life of faith, he left everything behind, became a believer not through the teachings of man but through the revelation and teaching from heaven, and was no longer a sinner in God's eyes because he had mastered the laws of heaven. He insisted that lying is the act of the devil, as the Bible records .
Prosecutors proudly attest that they will prosecute 'on behalf of the people'. Is it not ridiculous that the prosecution is called one 'on behalf of the people' when it fabricates lies and makes people into sinners? If the prosecution is geared to serve the interests of the elite ruling party rather than abiding by truth and facts, can they be said to really represent the interests of the people? This is why prosecutorial reform is imperative.
What's even more surprising is that the prosecution in this country is divided in two.
Now, the people of the Republic of Korea really have to be in right standing; one side will be a 'sinner' while the other 'innocent' by chance.
On which side is Suwon District Prosecutor's Office?
In light of the saying, “evil law is also law”, what would you do as a citizen to keep yourself rooted in your motherland? Even within such an unjust and divided country, the belief that an impartial judgment can be made by an impartial judge is valid.
2000 years ago, Pilate confessed after washing his hands three times in court that Jesus was ''innocent". However, for fear of impending riots, the then governors and officials - who rule in the same way today - meted out sentences of crucifixion and shedding of innocent blood. Of course, this was the will of heaven.
Today, the day of heaven's judgment is imminent when the purpose of God the Creator will be fulfilled at the cost of shedding innocent blood. Pilate's judgment, for our times today, awaits an outcome. After judgment is made by the authorities of this world, heaven's judgment will come soon thereafter.
