On 9th June, Shincheonji Volunteer Group (SVG), Gumi city, conveyed its appreciation to blood donors at an awards-giving ceremony. SVG signed an MOU both with Daegu-Gyeongbuk Blood Center and the Korean Red Cross to commit to giving blood to those most in need twice a year.
The aunt of an 18-year-old man whose life was recently saved due to generous blood donations made by SVG members said: "This blood donation saved my nephew's life." She thanked all SVG volunteers who had made a total of 100 blood donations.
Mr. Dae-suk Kim, director of Daegu-Gyeongbuk Blood Center, said: "The rate of blood-giving for members of Shincheonji Volunteer Group, including the middle-aged and elderly, is much higher than that of any other organization."
Mr. Geun-ji Shin, a donor from SVG, said: "If you look around, you'll see many locals in need of assistance. I will take the lead in devoting my undivided heart in service to the local community through SVG's various campaigns, in the same way that the light, rain and air is freely provided to us."
