On 13th January 2019, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (hereon 'Shincheonji church') held a joint Passover service and (35th) annual General Assembly at its church headquarters in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi province, that was broadcast live to all churches throughout the twelve tribes.

Despite slander from the established Korean Church and allied Christian press, Shincheonji church continues to grow in number and reputation because of its Bible-centred teachings. A sermon delivered by chairman Man Hee Lee - Jesus' promised messenger (pastor) who testifies to the entire fulfilment of Revelation that he has seen and heard (Rv 22:8,16) - gave words of encouragement. He said, "In spite of persecution, we must move forward...We evangelised many people last year and carried out many good works. Well done, everyone.”

Chairman Lee went on to underline the sacrifice of church workers, saying:

"The church and the centers operate well because many workers of duty have laboured and volunteered with a spirit of sacrifice up until now. We are now walking on a narrow path that can not be tread without blood and tears. As it was in Jesus’ era, the children of God have been persecuted in every Biblical era. We have been working under the same conditions today, too.”

The total number of congregation members reached 202,899 just before the new year, representing a 9% increase on the previous year (186,175). Over 30,000 students are currently registered to study at Zion Christian Mission Center's six-month Bible study programme which requires Service attendance on Wednesdays and Sundays as a basic requirement. This is no mere feat.

Chairman Lee went on to give words of hope, saying, “We believe with certainty and testify that the previous era has ended and the new era of Jesus' coming has arrived. Men can’t do this, but God can. Let’s work hard this year and let’s restore God's lost nation and create the eternal paradise where God will reign.”

In the words of a spokesperson for Shincheonji church, the goal for this year is to focus on the growth of members' faith according to the words of the Bible and to spread evangelistic activity.
