On June 15th, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, Busan Church (Busan James Tribe), opened its doors wide for a special Open House and Worship Service. This year’s theme was “Today, Meet Heaven,” and the response from the local community was impressive - with over 3500 people in attendance.
From the basement to the third floor, there was a range of experiences prepared. On the first floor, the guided docent explained the history of Shincheonji, MOU agreements for Bible exchange, and graduation ceremonies from Zion Christian Mission Centre. In the basement was a photo zone to record memories with visiting friends and family, and hands-on experiences such as Bible history games, succulent planting, aroma crafting, and fabric art workshops. The second floor included caricature drawings, calligraphy, and DIY goodie-making booths.
Moreover, a delicious food market on the third floor welcomed everyone with handmade kimbap, fruit, rice cakes, and sandwiches.
Then came a worship service, which included a special sermon by Tribe leader Young-no Lee, who delivered a message full of insight and care.
He spoke about the importance of soul-care in today’s fast-paced world, saying:-
“Even people with fame and money are not free from depression and anxiety. That’s why we must seek a life that nurtures not just our bodies, but our hearts and souls.”
He added:-
“Like a broken phone needs to go to a service centre, our souls need to return to the One who made them - God. When the soul is filled with light and truth, everything else begins to work out too.”
His message encouraged attendees to see faith not just as religion, but as the key to true inner peace.
Many first-time visitors shared their surprise and joy.
Mr. Park (70s, Yeongdo District) shared:
“I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the sincerity of the invitation moved me. I was surprised by the size of the church and how easy the sermon was to understand. I’ll be starting the Bible study in July.”
Meanwhile, Shincheonji Church of Jesus regularly opens its doors to the public with Bible-based lectures, exhibitions or worship services in order to create more opportunities to build understanding and unity with their neighbours.
