Bible Seminar explains the ‘True Meaning of Religion’ in Busan, South Korea

Shincheonji Church of Jesus regularly opens its doors to the public in order to lecture on a range of Bible-based topics, especially on the Book of Revelation, to foster deeper ties with communities throughout South Korea and address misunderstandings and prejudices towards Shincheonji.

To this end, the Andrew tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus held a seminar on the theme of ‘God’s History’ to an audience of 500 citizens at the Andrew Tribe Training Centre in Busan, Republic of Korea. The lecture hall was filled to capacity, and many of the attendees were standing to listen.

The tribe leader began by saying that we must first think about why we need the Bible. He said, “There must be many people who feel that nothing has changed even after 30 to 40 years of going to church, thinking that if they just believed in Jesus, they would be blessed.”

He asked why people might wonder what God is actually doing if God really does exist and why we have to live with difficulties in this world.

He then said, “‘Religion’ is the way to escape a difficult life and live a better life.”

The tribe leader explained that God had to leave the Earth because of sin, and so the world came under the rule of Satan. “Religion is what informs us about the process of God restoring the earth (that was taken away by Satan). Religion itself means 'to reconnect.'”

The tribe leader emphasised that amid the difficulties of life, God has been continually  carrying out the work of ‘restoration’. He said, “Although God’s work seems invisible, God has never stopped working.”

Emphasising the importance of understanding the Book of Revelation, which is the last prophetic book of the Bible, the tribe leader concluded, “I hope that we can all come into life by studying and confirming the Bible and making the right choices.”

One attendee who confessed to declining the invitation to attend the seminar out of a desire to want to live comfortably said, “Until today, I'd asked myself, ‘Do I really have to go through all the trouble of studying the Bible?’ But after hearing the message today, I feel like I want to study.”
