The Republic of Korea celebrates 20th April as a "Day for Persons with Disabilities", established to promote understanding between people of disability and people without disability and to improve their welfare.
To this end, the Daejeon branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group visited the Seo District branch of the Daejeon Association of Persons of Disability and donated Korean ramen noodles to 400 families.
Jun-seok Kwon, director of the Association, expressed his gratitude for the support, saying, “Thank you for working to improve the welfare and protect the rights of people with disabilities.”
An official from the Daejeon branch said, “In celebration of the Day for Persons with Disabilities, we hope to create a society where people of disability and people without disability can live together with freedom.”
The Daejeon branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group visits senior centres every month to run a dementia prevention programme and donates food to local residents in need.
