On 10th December, Jeong-woo Lee, head of the Peter Tribe, delivered a message to the believers titled ‘Our Hope and Mission’ |
“We will become believers with righteous conduct who come to the temple of God and worship. We will master the Book of Revelation of the New Covenant and be sealed and keep it without adding or subtracting. We will love each other as one family in heaven.”
This is the pledge that Jeong-woo Lee, the tribe leader of Peter Tribe, shared with the congregation at the Heavenly Family Meeting of Hope held on the 10th December under the title ‘Awake and Arise’ at Shincheonji Gwangju Church of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony.
The Meeting of Hope was organised so that all members of Shincheonji Gwangju Church could come to the temple to reflect on the results of their work this year and to make resolutions for the coming year. More than 27,000 believers participated over four sessions that day.
The rally began with praise from lecturers of Shincheonji Gwangju Church Zion Mission Centre and a look back at each person's year while watching an opening video titled 'While You Were Sleeping (Things That Happened This Year).' In the video, you can see the activities and development of Shincheonji Church of Jesus throughout the year, including the congregants starting their day with the Word of God, the Shincheonji Bible Seminar, the signing of MOUs with domestic and foreign pastors, the Happiness Lecture, the overseas signboard change to Shincheonji Church of Jesus, and the third 100,000 graduation ceremony.
On that day, Jeong-woo Lee, the leader of the tribe, stood on the podium under the title ‘Our Hope and Mission’ and spoke of Revelation 20:12, ‘the judgment that will take place at the end according to one’s deeds as written in the books (the Bible and the Book of Life)’ and the ‘rewards and punishments’ that will occur at this time.'
The leader of this tribe said, “We must do God’s work, and God is pleased with those who sacrifice and live their lives for God.” He added, “My hope is that we would not stop doing God’s work.” He emphasised, “When our hard work, effort, and time are used for God, God records and remembers it all.”
He said, “There is no one who is not needed in God’s work. So, let's not be those in Matthew 25 who do nothing and are afraid and hide our talent in the ground only to be judged, but let's move and come forward and work together in some way.” “There is nothing we cannot do if we all gather our hearts and work together,” he said, adding, “I hope we can be awake, meet in person in God's temple, and become a heavenly family that stays together until the end.”
Next, cheers and applause erupted from the audience whenever news appeared in the 'Future News' video, which cheerfully and tactfully captured the direction in which Shincheonji Church of Jesus will move in the future.
In the special performance that immediately followed, tribe leader Jeong-woo Lee, senior workers from the 24 departments of Shincheonji Gwangju Church, and administrative secretaries appeared on stage together. They received applause from the congregation by singing together a song called ‘We’, which contains the message of moving forward as one.
Finally, the day's meeting ended with the tribe leader and the members of Shincheonji Gwangju Church making their pledge to become members of heaven's family who, as believers, possess righteous conduct, firm faith, obedience, and love, and keep the new covenant in return for the grace of God and Jesus.
A believer who attended the hope meeting that day said, “I never imagined that senior leaders from 24 departments below the tribe leader and centre lecturers would give a praise performance. It was a gift to us while we were very busy with various tasks, and that touched me even more.”
One young believer who attended the Meeting said, “When the coronavirus was at its peak, I wondered when we would all gather together like this. Today, it was a refreshing experience to see everyone gather like this for a united vision while watching a video depicting our future.”
