Shincheonji Volunteer Group Cheongpyeong Branch conducts kimchi-sharing service for Neighbours

On the 23rd November, at Cheongpyeong Sports Park in Gapyeong district, Gyeonggi province, volunteers from the Cheongpyeong branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group are taking pictures while mixing pickled cabbage with seasoning and holding up kimchi

The hearts of the people of Gapyeong district in Gyeonggi province, Republic of Korea, warmed thanks to a kimchi-sharing event held during the bitter cold.

This is because the ‘Delicious Kimchi-Sharing Service’ conducted by the Cheongpyeong branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group was selected as the ‘2023 2nd Volunteer Support Project for Provincial Citizens’ hosted by the Gyeonggi Provincial Volunteer Centre.

This project was planned by the Gyeonggi Provincial Volunteer Centre to promote a culture of voluntary participation among residents, and this time, the Cheongpyeong branch was selected to provide a beautiful service.

Accordingly, about 50 volunteers made kimchi at Cheongpyeong Sports Park on the 23rd November and delivered 120 10kg boxes of kimchi to the Sangmyeon Residents' Association.

'Delicious Kimchi-Sharing' is a kimchi-sharing volunteer activity conducted by the Cheongpyeong branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group for the first time this year. The official said that the volunteers served with joy.

The executive director of the Independent Living Centre for Persons with Disabilities said, “It's not easy for people with disabilities to make and eat kimchi, so I'm grateful for this sincere food-sharing activity being held in the winter. We will deliver the food to people with disabilities so that they can enjoy a pleasing and warm meal this winter.”

Hyun-soon Cho, deputy director of the Cheongpyeong branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group, said, “We were able to successfully make 1200 kg of kimchi thanks to the help of about 50 volunteers and many neighbours who worked together to make delicious kimchi.” He added, “I am sincerely grateful to the members who worked hard to make delicious kimchi. It will surely whet your appetite.”

Meanwhile, the 'Delicious Kimchi-Sharing Service' was organised by Sangmyeon Residents' Association Happiness Sharing Storehouse (storehouse that donates foods to neighbours in need), Independent Living Centre for Persons with Disabilities (Gapyeong Branch), Gapyeong Credit Union (Cheongpyeong Branch), Environmental Protection National Movement Headquarters, Sunny Hair, CL Hair, Find Coffee, and Modern Feel (Gapyeong).
