On the 9th November, the Sangmyeon Residents' Association in Gapyeong district, Gyeonggi province (Chairperson Woo-seok Shim) presented a letter of appreciation to the Cheongpyeong branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group (Director Seong-min Cho), which is leading the 'Good Donation Good Consumption Campaign', at the Sangmyeon Happiness Sharing Storehouse.
The 'Good Donation Good Consumption' campaign was established to help local residents in need. It is a voluntary initiative in which a portion of profits generated through daily consumption from stores that have signed an agreement with Shincheonji Church of Jesus are distributed to individuals and community projects.
The Cheongpyeong branch has been carrying out a campaign every month, uniting ethical companies and beneficiaries, and the gifted items are carefully delivered to the Storehouse and donated to local residents in need. Through this month's campaign, five volunteers donated 200 packs of ramen to the Storehouse operated by Sangmyeon Residents' Association.
Sangmyeon Happiness Sharing Storehouse is a space prepared for local residents in temporary difficulty or in need of donations of ingredients and foods.
The relationship between the Happiness Sharing Storehouse and the Cheongpyeong branch has continued with donation activities conducted 10 times since the first donation of goods in February of this year, and a certificate of appreciation was handed out on the 9th November.
Woo-seok Shim, Chairperson of the Sangmyeon Residents’ Association, said, “When starting the Happiness Sharing Storehouse Project, there were difficulties as there were far more beneficiaries than donors due to the characteristics of the Sangmyeon region, so we're grateful to the Cheongpyeong branch who have provided a consistent service for nearly a year.”
Jun-su Yoon, General Manager of Happiness Sharing Storehouse, said, “As I prepare a letter of appreciation for the Cheongpyeong branch, I am filled with new emotions as I think about the times I've spent with the volunteer group over the past year.” He added, “The most popular choice of food at the Happiness Sharing Coop is instant ramen, and they have been donating plenty of ramen this month as well.” “Thanks to the Cheongpyeong branch, our storehouse is always filled, and I feel grateful just by seeing them,” he said.
Hyun-soon Cho, deputy director of the Cheongpyeong branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group, said, “We're grateful to the good and ethical companies and consumers, and to Sangmyeon Happiness Sharing Storehouse for participating in the Good Donation Good Consumption campaign.” She added, “Receiving today's certificate of appreciation is not what satisfies us the most; on the contrary, we'll continue to put our love for our neighbours into practice by serving even more diligently.”
