In order to create a world of peace and love, a Buddhist organisation in the Jeonbuk region and Shincheonji Volunteer Group's Jeonju branch (Director Jung-il Choi) signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) at Shincheonji Jeonju Church on the 28th October.
Those in attendance at the signing ceremony included monks from Muaesa Temple, Geumhwasa Temple, Muryangsa Temple, Chilyeongsa Temple, Geungrakam Temple and Cheonwang Jiguksa Temple.
With this MOU, both sides agreed to build mutual trust and cooperation and actively support each other in various events and activities to overcome the barriers between religions and create a world of peace.
In his greeting, Venerable Jeongin said, “Transcending religion is difficult, and visiting a church as a monk is not an easy decision. However, I would like to thank everyone, including the director of the volunteer group, who participated in making such a great event possible.”
Director Jung-il Choi said, “I was deeply moved to see the way in which the monks practise the teachings of Buddha. I am grateful for their devotion to peace and service, and I also follow the holy scriptures of the Bible and the spirit of love and peace.” He continued, “We will collaborate to overcome the barriers of religion and become one, and join forces for peace and volunteer work.”
