The Chuncheon branch of the youth volunteer group We Are One (We Are One Chuncheon) completed the blood donation relay, a beautiful journey for young people, on the 31st of August.
During the month of August, they conducted the 'We Are Red' blood donation campaign using the Korean Red Cross' Gangwon Blood Centre, bloodmobiles and bloodbanks.
About 540 members who participated in this campaign actively participated because they understood the fragility and value of life during the COVID-19 pandemic and were even more grateful for being able to share the gift of life by donating blood.
Hye-in Song, a We Are One member who participated in the blood donation, said, “When I donated blood for the first time last year, I was actually frightened, but I was impressed by the active participation of my colleagues, so I willingly and joyfully participated this time. It was rewarding.”
An official from Gangwon Blood Centre said, “Thank you for your hard work in this hot weather,” and showed them warmth and consideration by providing an auditorium as a rest area to recover after donating blood.
Meanwhile, Seung-won Hwang, head of We Are One Chuncheon, said, “Blood donations save lives, and we decided to participate because we believed it would be of great help to people in difficulties.” He added, “We wish to continue sharing the importance of life with many people.”
