On the 20th October, the Cheongpyeong branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group carried out the 'Green Nature' environmental clean-up activity at the Safety Recreation Area and Cheongpyeong Bridge in Cheongpyeong town, Gapyeong district, Gyeonggi province.
Cheongpyeong (淸平), whose name means clear water and a wide yard, is a place where many people visit for summer holidays due to its clear water and beautiful mountains.
In order to provide a comfortable resting place for local residents and tourists, the Cheongpyeong branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group worked hard to collect 500kg of household waste, including cigarette butts, plastic, and waste paper, from the river and surrounding roads through the Green Nature campaign.
The 'Green Nature' campaign pursued by Shincheonji Volunteer Group carries out wetland conservation activities, environmental cleanups to protect major facilities and cultural assets, disaster recovery activities, public awareness campaigns for environmental protection, and the creation of flower paths in illegal dumping areas to preserve a beautiful nature for posterity.
Mr. Cheon, a volunteer who participated in the volunteer work, expressed his feelings, saying, “My mind is relieved seeing the environment made cleaner while collecting river waste.”
An official from the Cheongpyeong branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group said, “We will continue to promote communication with residents through volunteer activities that serve the local community.”
