Shincheonji Volunteer Group Daejeon Branch (Director Bang-sik Jang) celebrated the '27th Senior Citizens' Day' (October 2nd) at the Seo District Seniors College of the Seo District Seniors' Association (Director Byeong-gu Kim) on the 4th October. A study table (worth 5 million KRW) was donated to the College.
Branch Head Byeong-gu Kim said, “I'm grateful for the creation of a pleasant environment where seniors can enjoy their retirement through studying and learning,” and added, “Senior residents in Seo district can now enjoy a happy study life.”
Deputy Director Jong-se Kang said, “Seniors College is a place where you can learn new things and follow the changing trends of the world. I hope you can fully realise your retirement and dreams through learning here.”
Seo District Seniors College is striving to develop a healthy retirement and educational welfare for seniors by organising subjects such as liberal arts, domestic and international situations, and health management.
Meanwhile, the Daejeon branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group donated 10 kg and 250 bags of rice to the Seo District Seniors College of the Seo District Seniors' Association last year. And since 2015, it has been holding the 'Yongmun-Tanbang neighbourhoods End-of-Year Filial Piety Celebration' for local senior residents and is building rapport with local residents through group blood donations and various social contribution activities. Another celebration of filial piety is being planned for this year as well.
