“Even though accessibility to such places, which even forklifts and the like equipment cannot easily get to, is typically difficult, Shincheonji Volunteer Group gathered and worked so that citizens could comfortably use the space.”
This is what a city official said on the 23rd August after witnessing the 'Green Nature' environmental campaign of Shincheonji Volunteer Group Seoul East Branch (Director Chan-yong Park).
Shincheonji Volunteer Group Seoul East Branch conducted their 'Green Nature' environmental campaign around Hanseom Beach in Cheongok neighbourhood, Donghae city.
Hanseom Beach is a popular tourist destination, and Shincheonji Volunteer Group Seoul East Branch actively volunteered to reduce the inconvenience of tourists and citizens who visited the beach because red seaweed that was pushed in by the recent Typhoon Kanun had piled up here and there.
Despite the hot and humid weather, the Seoul East Branch cleaned up the surroundings while putting seaweed in sacks.
In addition, tourists had time to communicate with bright smiles, saying that the Shincheonji Volunteer Group was doing a good service.
Meanwhile, Shincheonji Volunteer Group Seoul East conducts environmental cleanup and forest fire prevention campaigns for the local community, the 'More the Better' emotional wellbeing service through sharing companion plants, the 'Good Donation, Good Consumption' campaign to donate items to low-income households, 'Wall Story' for the rejuvenation of dilapidated murals, and various peace promotion activities.
