According to Shincheonji Church of Jesus, 198 churches in South Korea and 5,830 churches in 78 countries outside Korea have signed MOUs with Shincheonji to teach their church congregations the Gospel of Revelation. Among them, about 3,700 pastors are learning the words of Shincheonji Church of Jesus.
Moreover, 407 churches in 15 countries, including 33 churches in Madagascar, 33 churches in Uganda, and 300 churches in India, have signed MOUs to join the denomination and accordingly changed their signboards to 'New Heaven, New Earth, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony'. A total of 427 pastors belong to these churches, and the number of members reaches 24,000. Shincheonji lecturers are also being dispatched to teach the word.
In the midst of this, Busan James tribe (led by Jeong-hwan Lim) of Shincheonji Church of Jesus has signed 305 MOUs and 12 MOAs with churches in India, showing an active desire to change the church signboard and unite with Shincheonji.
Previously, church workers, including the head of Busan James tribe, Jeong-hwan Lim, visited India from February 14 to 24, conversed with local pastors, and held a signboard hanging ceremony and signboard change ceremony at churches in India.
In particular, a seminar was held on February 18, filled with more than 1,100 church members, including 700 pastors. At that meeting, more than 300 domestic pastors signed an agreement with Jeong-hwan Lim of Busan James tribe to replace their signboards.
A pastor who replaced the signboard after signing an MOU said, “No one from Shincheonji Church of Jesus told us to change the church name. We sincerely want to work with Shincheonji and believe that this message should be spread to many pastors and affiliated churches. I am very happy that I can partake in this work together.”
Another pastor said, “As I was learning the Word, I learned that the word of God comes from Zion and that God will also come to Zion. Jacob's name was changed to Israel because he overcame. I realised that God is with me.” Explaining the background of the signboard change, the pastor also said, “We also changed the signboard to New Heaven, New Earth, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony in order to receive blessings from God.”
Another pastor who expressed his thoughts through a testimony said, “It should be made known that no one forced us to change the signboard. Shincheonji is clearly written in Revelation 21,” He continued, “The Old Testament is full of prophetic words. In the same way that the Old Testament was fulfilled at the time of Jesus' coming, the prophecies of the New Testament will be fulfilled today as recorded in the Book of Revelation. We are now learning everything about these prophecies and are living at the time of Revelation's fulfilment. I hope everyone will learn this word, come to a full understanding of it, and enter the kingdom of heaven.”
Jeong-hwan Lim, the head of the tribe, said, “The testimonies of the local pastors were very moving. In particular, as their words were being translated from Korean to English to their local dialects, I could feel their sincere desire to want to listen and understand even though the language was not always clear, and so I felt very moved by that. A young man whose ambition was to pursue a master’s degree and was studying accordingly, became a lecturer and is preparing to teach the word to his church congregation soon.”
Jeong-hwan Lim, head of the tribe, said, “Currently, overseas churches are making requests for Shincheonji instructors to go and teach them directly in person, so we are making arrangements to choose and send lecturers from Korea overseas. We hope everyone will hear and understand these words and go to heaven together.”
The head of the overseas mission department at Shincheonji Church of Jesus said, “Not only India, but also requests for educational support and signboard changes from other countries have been on the increase since the 100,000 graduation ceremony of Shincheonji Zion Christian Mission Center held last year. Only those who want to hear the word will know.”
