Shincheonji Church of Jesus hosted a special web event on Saturday, April 9 with Chairman Man-hee Lee of Shincheonji Church of Jesus. For approximately 45 minutes, Chairman Lee broke down the meaning of Matthew chapter 24 to an audience of Christians, pastors, and church leaders.
With multiple wars and natural disasters occurring around the globe, there are some who have attempted to use these events as evidence of the prophecies coming true, applying their own interpretation to the New Testament of the Bible. However, Chairman Lee explained with precision that the beginning of the end of the age is something he witnessed in the Republic of Korea 39 years ago.
To open the event, Emcee Albert Correa introduced a short video about Chairman Lee’s past work as a peace advocate, establishing Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL), a cohort of religious leaders from around the world, and bringing the bloody 40-year conflict on the island of Mindanao to an end through initiating a peace agreement between the Islamic and Catholic people who resided there. “He encourages religious leaders around the world to be peace messengers and true leaders of God to guide their congregations in God’s truth,” the video stated.
Chairman Lee opened his speech saying, “I stand here in the name of Jesus, Jesus’ word written in Matthew 24 about events regarding the future.” Chairman Lee went on to say that Matthew chapter 23 illustrates historic and spiritual events that happened to the people of Israel, and that Matthew chapter 24 is about future events at Jesus’ Second Coming.
Also in his speech, Chairman Lee explained the figurative meaning of the war discussed in Matthew chapter 24 as well as the meaning of “holy place,” the mountain, pregnant women, harvest, and what is meant by the sun and moon “darkened” and stars “will fall from the sky”. Chairman Lee concisely connected the events prophesied in Matthew 24 with Revelation chapters 2, 3, 6, 7 and chapter 13. The most evocative moment was Chairman Lee breaking down Matthew 24:45 word for word explaining that “food” is spiritual food and that the time the food is given is the time of the destruction of the chosen people and the time of harvest.
Lastly, Chairman Lee encouraged listeners to reach out to his church with further questions, and to not be lazy or complacent but to follow God’s word as the “path to heaven.” He ended with his speech with his infamous mantra “We are one!”
As a testament to Chairman Lee’s powerful work forging peace, Dr. Parina Mehrotra shared her impact from the event:
“I have been associated with HWPL for 3-4 years and my experience has always been very positive. I have no doubt whatsoever in Chairman Lee’s work and in his words. The person who works for human welfare is not a human but an angel.
A soul like Mr. Lee who does not think only of himself, not his family, he thinks for the peace and happiness of every single person, every country in this world. What would we call such a person? I have learned only one thing in my life since childhood – he is the only true divine soul who thinks day and night about the happiness and peace of others.
Chairman Lee is a huge Mountain which is not going to budge from any obstacles. He is a huge tree which is a shade for all. He is an ocean that quenches the thirst of the thirsty. He is a cloud that makes the barren land fertile. He is a melody of music which dissolves sweetness in the ears.”
