Shincheonji Volunteer Group (Sodaemun-Paju branch) of Shincheonji Church hosted a ceremony entitled ‘The Value of Peace’ in the Peace Plaza outside Sangam World Cup Stadium, Seoul, on 25th June 2019 to underline the importance of peaceful reunification on the Korean peninsula. 25th June commemorates the breakout of the tragic 1950 Korean War. 1000 people in all attended, including an 86-year-young former frontline soldier of the tragic Korean War, the chairman of the Samil (March 1st) Independence Movement Research Institute, members of the Korean War Veterans' Association, former chairman of the North Korean Nuclear Movement Research Institute and representatives of various media agencies.
The ceremony comprised of opening remarks from the presider, honorary mentions to the fallen, hand-written letters made by youth all over the world desiring peace, an awards segment, performances by a women's and children's choir with fusions of Korean music, and various exhibition booths including calligraphy, face-painting, hand-drawing and Taegeukgi drawing. Also featured was an exhibition about the lives of children in the Korean War and the subsequent challenges to ensuring adequate human rights for all people today.

Volunteer Group, Seoul-Gyeonggi province, said: "Today's event has been organised to convey gratitude to those who
have fought to protect our country, such as the freedom fighters and Korean War
veterans. I hope today will help foster a greater culture of respect and help
one feel the value of peace."
