This word
records two types of spirits: God, and the devil. The devil is the ‘serpent’
that deceived Adam into betraying God and believing in his lies (Genesis 3:22).
To return to man, God began His work of re-creation through a righteous man
called Noah and put an end to sin by wiping out Adam’s era through a flood
(Genesis 7). However, the devil entered Noah’s second son, Ham (Genesis 9) so
God appointed and commanded Moses and the Israelites to destroy the land of
Canaan - Ham’s descendant - thereby bringing Noah's era to an end. King Solomon
and the Israelites then betrayed God by worshipping false gods (1Kings 11) so
God promised through the Old Testament prophets to send a righteous person born
of His (spiritual) seed - not of the seed of Adam - Jesus Christ.
In addition to the spirit of the devil, there is another reason why people betrayed God in every era. God told His prophet Hosea that His people are destroyed from lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). After Adam's betrayal, people lacked faith in the words of the pastor whom God had sent, making them easy prey for the devil. Therefore, by possessing the correct knowledge of the Bible, we can have the correct faith that guides our footsteps to the path that God desires for us to take. How do we know who God's pastor is?
The Bible records four different types of pastors: a general pastor who teaches about past events, a pastor of prophecy who prophesies about future events, a promised pastor who fulfils these prophecies and testifies to the physical fulfilment of these prophecies, and a false pastor who distorts the true meaning of the Bible according to his or her own thoughts. In the same way that people had to go the promised pastor - Jesus Christ - and listen to his words at the time of the first coming, we should also find the promised pastor today sent by God to fulfil the New Testament prophecies.
Before
Jesus bore the cross for the salvation of humanity, he made a new promise in
his blood (Luke 22:14-20). This blood takes effect at the time of the second
coming today, which is the fulfilment of the New Testament prophecies in
Revelation. It purchases the harvested and sealed kingdom and priests
(Revelation 1:5-6; 5:9-10) and great multitude (Revelation 7:14), and creates
the 12 tribes This is the New Heaven New Earth promised in Revelation 21. The
spirit of the devil will be thrown into the Abyss (Revelation 20:2-3) and the
lifeline that was cut 6000 years ago will be re-connected. God will finally
achieve His purpose and return to dwell with His creation in paradise:-
“‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
