The City Mayor of Gumi acknowledged the past contribution of foreign residents, saying “Foreign workers working in our country can not be ignored because they know the history and pain of living in a foreign country in a poor environment." The head of Shincheonji Multicultural Centre (SMC), which currently has a membership of 130 students from 13 overseas countries, acknowledged their efforts and said: “We pursue peace. The multicultural center not only helps Korean foreigners, but also helps them learn about Korean culture."

Shincheonji Volunteer Group is the largest non-governmental national
organisation operating in the Republic of Korea with over 100,000
volunteers serving in disaster relief, blood donation, Korean war
veteran support (6million), regional development and public service campaigns.
