Why does Shincheonji continue to grow?
Shincheonji Church is a church that has been
created according to the promises of the Bible. These promises are contained
within the Book of Revelation, which is the last book of the Bible and God’s
final work of restoration where this world is re-created and made into a place
where He can dwell.
But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven
and a new earth, where righteousness dwells (2Peter 3:13)
In English, Shincheonji Church is translated as ‘New Heaven New Earth’. It is a church that has been promised by God’s prophets throughout the Bible. It is a new church (Heaven) where the new people (Earth) belong. These people are the 144,000 priests and the rest of humanity; the latter being referred to as the ‘great multitude’ in Revelation 7.
Who will not fear you, Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone
are holy. All nations will come and worship before you, for your
righteous. After this I looked, and I saw in heaven the temple - that is,
the tabernacle of the covenant law - and it was opened. (Revelation 15:4-5).
Shincheonji Church is also known as the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (‘Temple’ or ‘Tabernacle’ being another way of saying ‘church’) because it is the only place on earth where the fulfilment of God’s promises in the Book of Revelation can be testified. It is also the only church which can clearly explain the contents of the whole Bible from beginning-end; from Genesis to Revelation.
Through the grace of God, people receive this word of truth after completing an intensive 6-month Bible study programme at Zion Christian Mission Centre, which is Shincheonji Church's department of theology. After the study and in accordance to the promises of Revelation 7 and 14, one becomes a family member of one of the 12 tribes and acquires a solid understanding of the 66 books of the Bible. The 200,000 congregation members in Shincheonji Church today are in the process of mastering the Bible. Although some traditional churches and people persecute Shincheonji Church, labelling it a ‘cult’ and ‘heresy’, it continues to grow and will do so because this is the will of God.
Today this revealed truth in the Bible is being made known plainly to the congregation members of Shincheonji Church through the lips of the Promised Pastor. He is the ‘One who Overcomes’ (Revelation 3:12 and 3:21) who is specifically appointed and commanded by God as His messenger to testify to all people about the events of the Book of Revelation (Revelation 22:8, 22:16). Just as Jesus Christ - the son of God - came to fulfil all the prophecies of the Old Testament and testified to them 2000 years ago (Jn 19:30), the One who Overcomes fulfils all the prophecies of the New Testament and testifies to them today (Rv 21:6). This is God’s final work and the process of restoration. This is truly hopeful.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:3-4)
