Livelihoods as farmers have faced many challenges in recent times including urbanisation, 22% arable land and less rainfall than most neighbouring countries. Rice accounts for 90% of total grain production and the many other grains heavily reliant on import.
On 5th of June 2018, in collaboration with seven other charitable organisations, Shincheonji Volunteer Group Daegu led a nationwide campaign to help farmers harvest garlic.

Ten days
later, 30 Shincheonji volunteers gathered heart in assisting farmers in neighbouring
Cheongdo to harvest onion under the ‘Sharing love and helping farming’ campaign.
Although a
seemingly small gesture to the naked eye, farmers were moved by Shincheonji Church's heart of
volunteerism. As one farmer said, “I was
in trouble getting help at the time of harvesting onions. Shincheonji
volunteers visited here just in time and helped harvesting.” Shincheonji Church will continue
to lovingly serve people throughout the country - regardless of age or religion.
May the light of Shincheonji Church shine to all corners of the country and beyondJ
