Ten days ago, I submitted a short article on the
subject of the 34th Annual Commemoration of the Establishment of Shincheonji
Church attended by over 20,000 congregation members in Seoul, Republic
of Korea. Through a publication that appeared in the major English-language
newspaper, JoongAng Daily, the service made national headlines. Shortly after,
another publication that also promoted Shincheonji Church was printed
in a second major English-language newspaper called Dong-A Ilbo (“East
Asia Daily”), which has a readership of 1.2 million. The content of this
publication was similar in nature: promotion of the 20,000 students who graduated
from Zion Christian Mission Centre in 2017. What is Zion Christian Mission
Centre? What has it achieved? How does it distinguish Shincheonji Church from any other church or seminary in the world?
Zion Christian Mission Centre is the educational
wing of Shincheonji Church. Since 1990, it has been teaching the 66
books of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation to over 200,000 people in 19
countries across six continents, and in the last five years has produced more
than 100,000 graduates. This has been made possible through a purely
Bible-centred six-month course that is provided freely without cost. After the
six-month course, there is a strict graduation exam and one then becomes a
member of one of the 12 tribes, according to the promises in Revelation 7 and
14. The reason why Shincheonji
Church has been able to grow so rapidly is because it is the
only place in the world where the prophecies of the Bible are being fulfilled and
plainly testified. Through the six-month study, students of all ages and
backgrounds are challenged to continually humble themselves before the Bible and
they now possess a thorough understanding of the physical fulfilment of
Revelation and much of the 66 books of the Bible. Most importantly, they can clearly
know the action required to fulfil God’s will to end pain and suffering and establish
a world of eternal peace on this earth which God and humanity yearn for (Revelation
21:1-4).
In the Bible, God always promises what He will do
and then fulfils it at an appointed time. 2000 years ago, the promise that God had made through
Jesus is being fulfilled in our generation today through one chosen Pastor
(Revelation 1:2, 10, 22:16). Difficult to believe? Perhaps, but all the
promises of the New Testament are being fulfilled and plainly testified in
Shincheonji Church. At a time like today when our world is so
divided with churches failing to cater to the spiritual needs of its dwindling
congregation, and religious misunderstandings being the cause of 80% of global
conflicts, we must unite under one truth so that God’s hope and the hope of
mankind can be fulfilled.
